Participation in any live or recorded online class is entirely at your risk. Melissa Porter Yoga cannot be held responsible for any injury or harm you may sustain whilst undertaking an online or in person class.

By taking part in any online or in person class you are accepting that you have read, understood and agreed to follow these General Terms. 


Yoga is physically challenging and carries with it risks that I cannot entirely eliminate. To minimise this risk please follow the rules and health declaration.

Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional before starting or changing any exercise program or making a lifestyle change. This is particularly important if you are pregnant, nursing, regularly taking medications, or have any existing medical conditions. The content of classes, this site and is not intended to provide medical advice or make medical diagnoses. 

I have carried out a risk assessment for classes which will be regularly reviewed in line with any changes to government guidance on making shared spaces COVID Secure.

I will I will not teach if I have symptoms of Covid-19 (cough, fever, loss of sense of smell/taste, shortness of breath and fatigue) or flu-like symptoms, suspect I may have Covid-19 or I have been in close contact with another person with Covid-19. I will not teach if anyone in my household is self isolating or waiting for a Covid-19 test result.

I will regularly take a rapid lateral flow test.


Please do not come to class if you are not well, have any Covid symptoms or any cold and flu symptoms. In addition, if you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or is symptomatic, or if someone in your household has it, please follow government guidelines and do not attend class. This is to keep everyone safe and help prevent the spread (even if you are not legally required to self isolate).

The WHO guidance clearly states that face coverings should not be worn during exercise but you are welcome to wear a face covering on arrival and when leaving if you wish. This is not compulsory.

Most importantly,

by booking a class you agree you will not attend class if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are experiencing any of the main COVID-19 symptoms or flu-like symptoms

  • You have received a positive COVID-19 test result 

  • You live with someone who is self isolating or waiting for COVID-19 test results.


- Windows and doors will be kept open to encourage good ventilation.

- Please bring a mat and any other props you like to use for support or comfort.

- Consent tokens for hands on assists will be provided. If you want to maintain space around you please place your mat at the back of the class where I will not be moving around. These tokens will also indicate where to place your mats.

- You must act safely and sensibly at all times. Only you can monitor your condition during your workout and you are fully responsible for your own safety and wellbeing.
- You must follow cues or instructions displayed or given to you. If you are at all unclear do not undertake the posture.
- Do not attempt to undertake any posture that is outside of your normal practice, comfort zone or range of motion.
- Stop immediately if you experience any pain.

Single class credits and passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and have strict expiry dates. Please ensure the pass is right for you before purchasing. Payment must be received in advance online through the booking system. Cash payments will not be accepted.

Classes can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance. If a class is cancelled the credit will be returned to your account to use for another class. If you cancel outside of the cancellation window (by email or phone) or you don't turn up you will lose your class credit.
Private sessions can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice with no charge. My private session availability is limited therefore rescheduling a private session with less than 24 hours notice will incur a 50% charge of the session fee unless the slot can be taken by someone else in which case the charge will be waived.
You can cancel a workshop up to 7 days in advance and receive a full refund minus a 5% admin fee. If a workshop is cancelled less than 7 days before the day of a workshop a full or partial refund may be considered only if the space is resold. No refunds will be given for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or if you don't turn up to the workshop.

All information collected including your email, telephone number and health records will be kept private and confidential. Your telephone or email address will be used to contact you in the event of class cancellations or changes.
