GENERAL TERMS
Terms & Conditions
PART ONE: PARTICIPATION IN CLASSES
1. Assumption of Risk
Yoga involves physical activity and carries inherent risks. By participating in any class—whether in person, live online, or via recorded content—you acknowledge and accept that you do so entirely at your own risk. Melissa Porter accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss, or harm sustained during participation. By taking part in any class, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these General Terms.
2. Health and Safety
-
You must seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before beginning or modifying any exercise programme or making lifestyle changes.
-
The content of classes and melissaporteryoga.com is not intended to constitute medical advice or diagnosis.
3. Health Declaration
Please do not attend class if you are unwell or experiencing symptoms of Covid‑19, colds, or flu.
4. What to Expect in Class
-
Mats and props may be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own equipment.
-
Hands‑on assists may be offered. Consent will always be requested beforehand.
-
You are responsible for monitoring your own physical condition throughout class and must act safely and sensibly at all times.
-
Class sizes are typically 12–14 participants. If you have a preferred place to practise (e.g., near a wall or at the back), please inform the instructor on arrival and reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate your request.
5. Payment and Class Credits
-
Single class credits, class passes, and monthly memberships are non‑refundable. Please ensure the option you purchase is suitable for your needs.
-
Payment must be made in advance through the online booking system. Cash payments are not accepted.
-
Classes can be booked up to two months in advance. If you choose to cancel your plan, any future class bookings scheduled after your cancellation date will also be cancelled.
6. Cancellations
-
Group classes: May be cancelled up to 12 hours before the scheduled start time via your online account.
-
Private lessons: May be rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance without charge.
-
Workshops: May be cancelled up to 7 days in advance for a full refund minus a 5% administrative fee. Cancellations within 7 days may be eligible for a full or partial refund only if the space is resold.
-
No refunds or class credits can be issued for cancellations made less than 12 hours before the start of class or for non-attendance to any class, private lesson, or workshop. While exceptional circumstances will always be considered, no refunds or credits will be issued for illness, weather conditions, or traffic delays.
-
The £75 Monthly Member plan includes unlimited classes; therefore, cancellations do not affect class allowance. In this instance, more than three late cancellations or no-shows within a month will result in a £5 fee.
